1. Outside the DC/On the Campus
An installer used HDPE sticks to connect buildings on a Tier-1 data centre campus in the Pacific Northwest. Because HDPE sticks allow for the use of field-installable mechanical couplers, the installer achieved 40% savings and quicker time to market.
2. Between DCs
A long-haul builder subdivided an existing standard conduit with four MicroDucts, making significant savings without compromising capacity in a long-haul data centre interconnect (DCI) project between Dallas and Atlanta, USA. Combined with air jetting, MicroDucts can maximise efficiency and lower costs in materials and labour.
3. Inside the DC
T5 Data Centre colocation facility (formerly Forsythe Data Centre) in Chicago, USA, used in-building MicroDucts for faster and easier moves, adds, and changes (MACs) and reduced deployment costs. Air jetting fibre at speeds of up to 75 metres per minute saved installers more than 75%.
